A list of movies I really really really really want to see.

Moon
Indie sci-fi starring Sam Rockwell as a man stuck on the moon for years alone. It has this really nice 70’s sci-fi feel and it uses old-school model effects made gorgeous through CGI.

Splice
The latest indie sci-fi by amazing director Vincenzo Natali (Cube). I stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley playing two scientists that create this strange human/animal hybrid. This movie has been in the making forever because they want to make the effects (the creature) as fantastic as possible.

Hunter Prey
A great looking 80’s star wars-ish sci-fi movie. The debut movie of fan film director Sandy Collora. The costumes looks so damn sweet in this. This is how the new Star Wars movies should have looked like.

The Road
I haven’t read the book but I absolutely love post-apocalyptic movies. This one sounds wonderfully bleak which I guess my swedish genes respond to. It helps that it has a great cast with Viggo Mortensen, great director with John Hillcoat and great music by Nick Cave.

Pontypool
I’ve only heard good things about this upcoming canadian horror film set on a radio station during a zombie outbreak. The zombie infection spreads through the english language.

Cold Souls
Paul Giamatti plays himself in this kaufman-esque movie where he does an operation to remove his soul. His soul then gets stolen.

Where the Wild Things Are
I don’t really know anything about the source material but the poster, photos and trailer of this looks so damn sweet. And I’ve always been a fan of the director Spike Jonze.

Micmacs à tire-larigot
Ah finally, I’ve loved every single movie by Amelie From Montmartre director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (including Alien: Resurrection, it’s so pretty). And I can’t wait to see this movie about gun traders or something.

Centurion
Every single movie by director Neil Marshall have been kick-ass. The Descent is one of the best horror movies I’ve seen and Doomsday kicks all kinds of post-apocalyptic ass. And now he tackles another one of my favourite subjects, ancient rome.

Centurion is about “A splinter group of Roman soldiers who fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their legion is decimated in a devastating guerrilla attack.”.

District 9
Aliens lands on earth and gets put into ghettos where they are treated hideously. It will apparently be shot kind of realistically, sort of like a documentary. The director did a short film about it first which is damn good.

No images released of this yet but here’s a cool related picture.

Zombieland
this is a zombie apocalypse movie starring Woddy Harrelsson that doesn’t sound that original at all.. but for some reason something about this movie just seems really perfect. I’ve always had a thing for the survivalist part of zombie apocalypse movies and this seems to be about that.

No images released yet of this.

Avatar
James Cameron. Space sci-fi. Rumoured mindblowing 3D-effects. Need I say more?

I soooo want to see what this looks like but there hasn’t really been anything released.

And there’s so many more promising movies being made. The coming years will be so great!
